The "smartphone versus dedicated camera" debate has been going on for a while, and there were a few good reasons for that. Powerful software managed to bridge the gap, but recent smartphones by Xiaomi, Sony, and Sharp took it to a whole new level - a hardware level. Is this the beginning of the end for compact cameras?

Motorola today announced the moto g stylus 5G, a version of this year's moto g stylus with 5G and a larger battery, for $400. The new 5G model has excellent support for all 5G and 4G networks in the US, (except mmWave 5G.) The battery has been bumped up from 4,000 mAh to a whopping 5,000 mAh. The 5G model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset instead the Snapdragon 678 in the 4G model. Although the 480 is a 4-series chip, it's newer than the 678 and offers similar performance. Google Optimizes Android so Apps Take Up Less Space

Google has released a new version of the Android Runtime (ART), a core component that turns app code into lower-level code that can run directly on that specific device. The update contains new optimizations that reduce the resulting code size by about 9.3%. This means most apps now take up less space in both storage and RAM. On the average Android phone, this means a savings of about 50–100 MB in storage.
