Tile Launches Anti-Stalking Tools

Tile has launched a new feature that lets anyone with a smartphone check if they are being tracked surreptitiously with a Tile tracker. This mirrors a similar set of features offered by Apple for its competing AirTags and Find My service. Tile's new "Scan and Secure" feature is part of the main Tile app for iOS and Android. It can be used by anyone, even without a Tile account. The updated Tile app with Scan and Secure "starts rolling out this week".

Motorola today announced the moto g stylus 5G, a version of this year's moto g stylus with 5G and a larger battery, for $400. The new 5G model has excellent support for all 5G and 4G networks in the US, (except mmWave 5G.) The battery has been bumped up from 4,000 mAh to a whopping 5,000 mAh. The 5G model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset instead the Snapdragon 678 in the 4G model. Although the 480 is a 4-series chip, it's newer than the 678 and offers similar performance. The 48 megapixel main camera offers access to the full 48 megapixel resolution, and the fingerprint reader is located on the back instead of the side. Google Optimizes Android so Apps Take Up Less Space

Google has released a new version of the Android Runtime (ART), a core component that turns app code into lower-level code that can run directly on that specific device. The update contains new optimizations that reduce the resulting code size by about 9.3%. This means most apps now take up less space in both storage and RAM. On the average Android phone, this means a savings of about 50–100 MB in storage.
